The Senior Accountant - Domestic Full Service will report to the Senior Manager - Domestic Full Service and be an integral member of the Financial Reporting and Analysis team. This highly motivated individual will assist in performing the reporting & analysis functions for Domestic Full Service brands, including MHR, Renaissance and Autograph and have a wide range of responsibilities supporting several key systems, reporting & accounting functions and analytical activities. This person will be involved in special projects and must be able to manage multiple tasks at a time.

Overall Responsibilities include:

I. P&L Reporting

Prepare the monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis functions for the Domestic Full Service brands. This includes reviewing managed, franchise, and owned/leased operating results for accuracy; ensuring that all P&L activity is recorded in accordance with GAAP; analyzing the profit & loss statements, profit bridges, and other financial and statistical supporting schedules.

Analyze statistical data received from the properties. Determine if all data is being reported consistently. Evaluate and report on trends and resolve issues.

Prepare the monthly P&L forecast for Domestic Full Service brands. Analyze activity ensuring an accurate and reasonable forecast. Research and explain unusual activity and variances to prior forecasts.

Maintain a list of risks and opportunities as they relate to the Domestic Full Service brands. The list will include properties that are deemed risks on the impairment and guarantee schedules as well as on AMAC and CGC documents.

Complete financial reports, queries, and ad-hoc analytical schedules as requested by Senior Management.



II. LRP, Business Plan and Audit Process

Assist with preparation of the annual business plan for the Domestic Full Service brands. This i ncludes preparation of all aspects of managed, franchise, and owned/leased P&L, key statistical information, and various other supporting schedules.

Complete annual budget spread process by ensuring the Board of Director approved budget is reflected in the general ledger and that the monthly spread is accurate and reasonable.

Assist with preparation of Long Range Plan for the Domestic Full Service brands.

Participate in the annual audit process. Prepare all interim and year-end P&L PBCs for the MHR brand and other full service brands, as needed.

III. Balance Sheet & Cash flow Reporting

Ensure that Domestic Full Service balance sheet accounts are reconciled in accordance with MIP-66.

Develop and prepare balance sheet reports for select Domestic Full Service brands, as needed, including performing analytical tests, identifying key trends and highlighting critical variances and exposures.

Complete cash flow reports for select Domestic Full Service brands, as needed, and develop accurate cash flow forecasts. Identify key risks and opportunities and develop appropriate reporting for Senior Management.



IV. Division Ownership Maintenance

Assist with all division ownership responsibilities for Domestic Full Service brands. Facilitate requests received from hotels and other corporate departments for system maintenance, combo edit requests, ownership changes, etc.

Facilitate hotel openings and closings by ensuring appropriate general ledger and other financial systems set up. Work with regional teams, directors of finance, and governance group to determine and set up proper chart of accounts. Assist with removal of deflagged properties by coordinating closing entries and system maintenance with regional contacts.

V. Other Additional Responsibilities

Participate in implementing changes to financial reporting resulting from Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Financial Reports, Smartview, EPM, and Global Consolidations, and including incorporating new functionality into system reports and leveraging new tools to ensure the efficient preparation of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow packages.

Prepare reporting packages for stakeholders such as Investor Relations and Owner Franchise Services.

Assist in the preparation of various schedules included in the quarterly SEC reporting packages.

Assist with completing and maintaining proper documentation for all reporting processes in the group.

Complete other reporting, accounting and analytical projects as assigned by Senior Management.





Skill Requirements :

Two to four years of progressive job experience in accounting.

Strong computer skills. Experience with spread sheet based programs (Excel). PeopleSoft and/or Hyperion experience a plus.

Experience in Marriott Lodging a plus.

Public accounting experience a plus.

Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlines.

Strong customer relations skills. Customer service orientation.

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting.

CPA preferred.
