POSITION SUMMARY: ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER
The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations including employee management and customer relations, stock procurement and visual merchandise displays. Additionally, in the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Store Manager assumes full managerial responsibilities.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Achieve targeted merchandise/accessory sales goals.
- Train Full-Time and Part-Time sales personnel in the proper selling techniques.
- Complete Assistant Store Manager Development program
- Continuously monitors operations to ensure that standards are met and maintained regarding merchandise presentations, customer service standards, store cleanliness, shrinkage, and operating cost controls.
- Ensure the fiscal integrity of the store by accounting for all cash, merchandise, and other store assets.
- Contact customer returns to ensure level of service is maintained
- Participate in precautionary security measures to protect Company assets.
- Ensure accuracy’s and efficiencies of merchandise shipping and receiving.
- All criteria for Sales Associates
- All other duties requested by the Store Manager, Area Director, Area Supervisor, and Vice President of Operations.
JOB TASK ANALYSIS/ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position of Assistant Store Manager is required to stand approximately seven to twelve hours per day, usually five to six days per week. During any given hour of the workday, the Assistant Store Manager may be required to kneel in order to place shoes on the customer’s feet, or walk quickly into the back room to obtain specified product from the storage racks. This may require climbing a ladder, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pulling, lifting weights of usually 5-25 lbs., in certain instances weights may be heavier, but may not exceed 200 lbs. Additionally, incumbent may be required to descend/ascend stairs in order to stock and/or acquire merchandise for sale.
