Busy and growth oriented structural welding/fabrication shop involved in transportation oriented projects seeks an experienced shop foreman who has the ability to grow into an even larger role within the organization. This position is responsible for supervising the coordination of shop production including defined workloads and time management of shop personnel work assignments as well as inventory control and timely preventative maintenance of shop tools/equipment;. Other duties include safety and quality control inspections, operating automated machinery, as well as other various power/hand tools and assisting as needed with various repair, welding, fabrication, assembly and maintenance activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: may include any or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned. · Supervise and lead all Shop Personnel and/or assigned work groups · Monitor and reallocate assignments to level workloads and increase efficiencies; ensure all work assignments are completed according to schedule · Train and assist shop personnel in the performance of major decisions and repairs · Work on special projects, implement process/production improvements and cover for multiple positions when staffing levels are low/production or operating demands are accelerated · Assist with QC inspections, coordinate finished product deliveries, packaging and storage; place orders for shop supplies as needed · Inspect all production parts/materials and report defective material or questionable component conditions to management · Analyze and troubleshoot equipment failures to determine necessary corrective action Will oversee the QA/QC manual and handle all job related paperwork. Ideal candidate will have experience with structural welding and fabrication, plasma cutting and burning. Must be able to lead a crew and demonstrate sound communication and leadership skills.
