Time Warner Cable currently seeks a Web Developer to support custom development for our local news, local sports, and local programming digital properties. The Web Developer ' s role will focus on client side development for our websites and mobile applications. The candidate will develop, test, launch, and maintain efficient and user friendly web applications for our portfolio. Candidate will work with our digital content team and engineers in our Converged Technology Group to develop innovative solutions. Candidate must be highly organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously to meet aggressive deadlines. Our team strives to work with the best people and technology possible. The successful candidate in this position looks to innovate the delivery of video and information for display and interaction on Time Warner Cable websites for its local news, local sports and local programming content.
Essential Job Functions
Candidate will focus on UI development, employing current JavaScript libraries and frameworks to create scalable, optimized web applications.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of Enterprise level client-side application development experience in a cross-browser environment
- Exceptional Object-Oriented JavaScript, jQuery, and AJAX
- Proficiency and experience in HTML5 and CSS
- Demonstrates proficiency with Photoshop
- Demonstrate experience with User Interface Design and Usability and converting design assets into fully functional web applications
- Comfortable working in command-line Linux/Unix environments.
- Demonstrated experience with Web analytics (Omniture, Google Analytics)
- Experience building and maintaining website with Wordpress
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Works collaboratively with various teams including product managers, engineers and end users both in person and through phone or video conferencing
- Highly skilled in problem solving and troubleshooting
- Experience in graphics manipulation with Adobe Creative Suite
- Able to clearly articulate ideas while being receptive to constructive criticism
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with version control (Git, Subversion)
- Strong understanding of client-side optimization and performance tuning techniques Proficient with common JS libraries (jQuery, Underscore, Dojo, YUI, or similar)
- Experience developing with an MVC/MV* JS framework (Backbone, Ember, AngularJS, or similar)
- Familiarity with AMD or CommonJS module formats and script loading (RequireJS, curl.js)
- Experience with server-side technologies and web servers (Java, Node.js, Apache, Nginx, RESTful frameworks)
- Experience developing dynamic Web applications at scale (>1M+ monthly unique visitors)
- Experience with testing frameworks (automated testing, performance testing, load generation) and performance optimization Object-Oriented CSS (OOCSS)
- Experience with mobile web development and optimization
- Experience with distributed NoSQL technologies such as CouchDB, MongoDB and the Java Content Repository (JCR) specification
