The Virginia United Methodist Foundation was formed in 1971 to provide stewardship education and manage assets for local churches, districts and agencies of the Virginia Conference. The Foundation is seeking an individual with gifts and skills in high quality administrative support in a small office setting. We are seeking an individual who – 1) is willing and eager to learn a wide spectrum of duties that support multiple personnel who travel frequently 2) is able to execute instructions for a task(s), anticipate and solve problems, and complete task(s) in a timely and accurate manner 3) is able to manage detailed tasks with minimal supervision 4) is creative in their thinking and adaptive to the Conference Center context 5) is proficient in the use of all Microsoft software products – Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Access (in this order of proficiency) 6) is a learner, a self-starter, flexible, multi-tasks well 7) has a background in business, communications and marketing to serve the Foundation’s donors, clients, churches and agencies and provide assistance through expansion of current service offerings 8) can be trusted to hold sensitive information in strict confidentiality 9) has a friendly manner and ministry service orientation to people—in person and over the phone This is an hourly position, though exact schedule of hours and days of the week are somewhat flexible, to be arranged in advance of hire. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Knowledge of the United Methodist Church connectional structure and polity is beneficial but not required. The Foundation office is located in the Virginia United Methodist Conference Center in Glen Allen, VA.
