Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse - (NICU RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 D
This hopsital has a 30 bed State Certified Community Level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) providing comprehensive care for preemies and other high-risk infants. Since it is located in the Women and Infants Center, they can help get a newborn right into treatment if needed.
The neonatal team at this hospital includes neonatologists, clinical nurse specialists, neonatal nurse practitioners, registered nurses, respiratory care practitioners, occupational therapist, social workers, and discharge planners.
The role of the neonatal intensive care nurse (NICU nurse) is to provide direct and specialized care for newborns needing close monitoring due to premature birth, birth defects, infection, or other medical conditions requiring surgery or therapy. Working in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with doctors and other healthcare professionals, the NICU RNs assist in developing and implementing a plan of care for high-risk newborns requiring high-technology care, including ventilators, incubators, or other special equipment or surgery.
