Description

The Senior Cloud Integration Developer is responsible for designing, developing and implementing programs, as required, to support the technical capabilities at AutoTrader Group. To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, both with team members and business contacts at all levels. This role by necessity requires a polyglot programmer. The solutions they support will have them developing in a variety of programming languages, frameworks and methodologies. This position is not a heads down development only position, but instead is working with the IT operations, engineering, DevOps and business unit leaders to automate processes, systems and cloud integrations. This person will need to integrate many different tools and will need to write programs and utilities needed to link the various systems together. This role also requires the ability to gather requirements to document and develop process and workflows. In addition, the successful Senior Cloud Integration Developer must be able to work with minimal or no supervision on multiple concurrent complex projects and to coordinate the work of others in this environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):

  • Participate in the design, planning and deployment of business applications
  • Ensure company standard technologies are being followed by all business units
  • Develop scripts, applications and websites as required to address the business needs
  • Gather requirements to document and develop processes and workflows to support the requirements
  • Assist in the design and development of tools to delegate administration of business applications
  • Participate in functional test planning and testing
  • Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting of infrastructure and applications
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the platforms and related applications.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.
  • Research and implement new technologies to improve the environment
Qualifications
  • Java developer with experience or desire to learn Ruby / Ruby on Rails
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, jQuery or other JavaScript frameworks
  • Excellent infrastructure knowledge on Platforms (Linux, Windows), Storage and Networking.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Expert with developing and supporting multi-tier / multi-user Web applications
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of DevOps methodologies
  • Working knowledge of mobile operating systems
  • Working knowledge of LDAP and directory services tools
  • Pluses: Working knowledge of any/all of: IIS, Apache, ColdFusion, .Net., C#, ASP.Net MVC and SQL Server Databases / Reporting Services, Python / Perl, PowerShell, Amazon Web Services (AWS), VMWare vCenter, RedHat CloudForms, OpenStack, OpenShift, Puppet, Chef, CFEngine, SCCM
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years’ experience developing and supporting applications in an enterprise
