About this job
A client of ours needs a Grinder Machinist on their 2nd shift. They usually work around 50+ hours a week. This position will train on 1st shift for the first couple of weeks, and then move to 2nd. This position will mostly work on OD & ID grinders, and occasionally do some surface grinding. The manager for this position is looking for this candidate to eventually move onto 1st shift (earliest 1 1/2 - 2 years).
Musts:
2+ years’ experience as a machinist working with grinders (can also do mills and lathes, but needs to have some grinding experience)
Ability to read a blueprint
Must be OK working on one specific type of machine each day
Basic inspection experience with mics/cals
Needs to be motivated – they want someone who will run the 1st shift and become a leader on the floor
Can speak Polish OR Russian
Plus:
OD/ID grinder experience (strong plus)
Experience machining parts for the medical or can industry
Surface grinder experience
