Infection Control Nurse - (IC RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 D/E/N

The Infection Control Coordinator RN is responsible for patient, employees, and environmental surveillance for the identification, prevention and control of infectious processes within the hospital setting. Must have current experience with 2014 Joint Commission Standards, major building construction and NHSN and Quality Net reporting. The individual needs to communicate well and be prepared to jump in with both feet.

The infection control nurse can be considered the first line of defense because he/she is responsible for identifying, controlling, and preventing infection outbreaks in both healthcare facilities and the community at large. To do so, the infection control RN must collect and analyze data related to possible infections and then take the necessary measures to prevent outbreaks and/or contain and control any outbreaks that may have already occurred. Infection control RNs are also responsible for developing and enforcing infection control policies and procedures in the healthcare setting.

Required Qualifications
HI or compact license
2 years experience in Infection Prevention. Current RN Hawaii CIC certification required.
