We have an immediate opening for a Front Desk Supervisor.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

SUMMARY
This position is responsible for overseeing the front desk staff as it relates to ensuring guest satisfaction. The Front Desk Supervisor is also responsible for maximizing room revenues in line with Country Inn & Suites By Carlson standards, by providing efficient and courteous front desk service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Guests:

  • Assists all guests in a sincere and courteous manner, whenever possible going the extra mile and doing whatever it takes to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Respond to all guests comments and concerns in Medallia and Revinate in a timely manner.
  • Ensure guest are greeted upon arrival and make time to interact effectively with guests. Respond appropriately to guest complaints, solicit feedback and build relationships to drive continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the front desk and public areas and take immediate action to correct any issues.
  • Performs all guest accounting functions according to established hotel operating procedures to ensure all guest and house accounts are complete and accurate.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel, as well as the local area, and effectively assists guests.
  • Assist with inside sales, group bookings and meeting room requests.

Associates:

  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work and delegate to front desk and night audit staff accordingly.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve overall hotel performance.
  • Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
  • Educate and train Associates in compliance with federal, state and local laws and safety regulations, as well as all of Sand Hospitality, LLC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff is properly trained on systems, security and cash-handling procedures as well as service and quality standards.

Financial:

  • Adheres to all established credit and inventory control procedures to minimize exposure to loss of revenue.
  • Maintain and order supplies within budget as directed by General Manager.
  • Demonstrates the use of sales techniques to effectively sell the property, maximizing occupancy and average rate.
  • Receives and processes telephone and walk-in reservations accurately to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Professionally and competently operates the telephone system according to Country Inns &
  • Suites By Carlson standards.
  • Acts as manager on duty in the absence of the general manager.
  • Understands and applies all hotel safety and security procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment for employees and guests.
  • Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.

** The Associate will be required to perform additional duties as directed by their Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of at least 6 months of front desk experience and a high school degree or equivalent is required.

The incumbent must have good time management and organizational skills, the ability to handle pressure and multiple tasks simultaneously, have the ability to make quick decisions and be a team player. Individual must also have a cheerful disposition and the ability to interact easily with strangers, show self-control in stressful situations and maintain a neat appearance. Incumbent must have the ability to handle monetary transactions and give correct change. Individual must also be able to physically manipulate equipment such as: cash register, computer, credit card machines, telephone console/switchboard, calculator, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos such as safety rules, operating instructions, order sheets, documents, policies and procedures. Ability to complete company documents as directed by General Manager, as well as the ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with staff members, guests and vendors.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
