Pediatric Intensive Care - PICU Nurse - (PICU RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 D/N Pay Rate: $33.00 *
Provide safe nursing care to a variety of patients, ages infant to young adult. Floating among the Pediatric Critical Care units (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Pediatric Cardio-Thoracic Unit (PCTU), and Brandon (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) is expected. The need to function and have the knowledge to work with multiple pediatric specialties is expected. The ability to work with various central venous lines and the knowledge to administer specialized intravenous (IV) medication drips and dosages will be an expectation. These patients often require ventilatory support and hemodynamic monitoring. Desire NRP certification.
The pediatric intensive care nurse (PICU RN) provides cares for children and adolescents, usually up to the age of 18, with life-threatening or high-acuity conditions that require constant monitoring. Working in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), a high-tech children’s services area for critically ill, medically complex, and/or post-surgical patients, the pediatric intensive care RN collaborates with families, physicians, and other healthcare officials to determine the best course of patient care and recovery.
