Diesel Mechanic

Diesel Mechanic Summary: Repair and inspect company equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective and practical manner.

Diesel Mechanic Shift: Must be available to work any shift.

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:
  • Routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Build, rebuild and repair all parts of automotive equipment, as may be required in the department assigned to.
  • Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, other breakdown or failure.
  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the components parts and systems.
  • Engine repair and overhaul.
  • Inspect equipment used
  • Read precision instruments.
  • Micrometers, dial indicators, bored gauges, etc.
  • When applicable use welding skills.
  • Other duties may be assigned


Qualified Candidates For The Position Will Have Met The Following:
  • Required:
    • Equivalent of a high school diploma or GED & 1 year of related equipment maintenance and repair; OR 3 years of related equipment maintenance and repair.
    • Must furnish own tools.
    • Valid drive license
  • Preferred:
    • Mechanical or trade school certificate
    • ASE certificate
    • Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience




Working Conditions:

Shop, office, yard, vehicle environment, may require lifting of 20 to 50 lbs., at least once a day.
