The Retail Sales Associate will be the primary point of contact for both new and existing customers. This role is responsible for meeting established sales objectives by matching customer needs with the right products and services, including guiding customers through the purchase decision and activation process.  As a critical member of the sales team, this role requires strong interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience.  The Retail Sales Associate will be provided learning opportunities to stay abreast of the rapidly evolving industry trends and is expected to translate how product/service capabilities address various customer needs. To be successful in this role, this individual should have an aptitude for sensing and responding to various consumer types. 

In addition to customer service responsibilities, this individual plays a key role in maximizing sales and profitability by focusing on key business initiatives, store merchandising, marketing execution, inventory management, and loss prevention.  Operational duties include paperwork and completion of sales operational data tracking forms.

Position reports to: Store Manager and Retail Sales Team Lead

Core Responsibilities:

§ Sales

- Meets individual sales targets

- Makes the appropriate recommendations for services using consultative sales and retention skills

- Ability to effectively make situation specific recommendations

- Analyzes the customer’s needs and transforms them into sales opportunities

- Clearly explains and illustrates product and service capabilities

- Offers product suggestions to customers to help satisfy their needs/wants

- Continuously expands knowledge of industry trends

- Accurately collects and reports data related to sales interactions including customer feedback

- Presents a professional image at all times to customers

- Attends product and sales training as required

- Resolves sales objections with positive, customer-driven solution

- Actively participates in sales meetings providing product insight and feedback from customers

 

§ Customer Service

-    Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of product in order to improve related sales and customer satisfaction

-    Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the marketing and sales team

- Aids customers in completing purchases and resolving issues

- Provides service to customers following procedures, practices, and policies

- Explains product set-up process to customer and answers questions regarding installation

- Strives to exhibit best-in-class customer service skills

- Ensures sales floor remains visually appealing by contributing to up-keep and cleanliness

- Assists with sales floor inventory counts

- Develops systematic methods for communication and feedback from customers and follows through on those customer inquiries, requests, and complaints

- Identifies issues and concerns from customers and elevates appropriate issues for resolution

- Displays skill at calming angry and disappointed customers

Additional Requirements

- High School diploma, GED, or relevant experience required

- Minimum of 1 year of retail sales or customer service experience required

- Ability to meet established sales targets

- Willingness to work a flexible schedule which includes weekends, evenings, and holidays

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to explain and sell products using a customer-friendly approach

- Ability to work in a service-oriented, fast-paced team environment

- Computer literacy with an aptitude for learning communication products and services

- Business understanding and working knowledge of the consumer electronics and/or the cloud computing  industries as well as current and emerging technologies is very beneficial

- Must have reliable, consistent transportation and ability to work at a variety of retail locations

- Ability to be mobile within the store for long periods of time to greet and assist customers

- General office skills including the ability to operate telephone, 10-key, copy machine/scanner

 

Preferred Skills

- Four year college degree

- 2-5 year of retail sales experience

- Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish)

 

Sales Incentives

Physical Qualifications

- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds to help manage stock room inventory

 

Visual Requirements

- Ability to judge distance and space relationships, so as to see objects where and as they actually are
