Loss Prevention Agent (Locations Throughout the Bay Area)

Monument Security, inc is currently hiring Loss Prevention Agents for P/T & F/T positions throughout the greater Bay Area. Agents are offered work within 30 miles of their primary residence. Every effort is made to schedule agents to work as close to their home as possible.

Loss Prevention Agent Duties Include:

- Effectively identifying situations that present a likelihood of merchandise loss.
- Following Loss Prevention Guidelines for the successful apprehension of shoplifters
- In Cases where the shoplifter is non compliant, the Loss Prevention Agent must use reasonable means to attempt to recover the unpaid for merchandise in some circumstances
- Loss Prevention Agents must be able to write clear and concise non-biased crime reports that can be used as evidence in a court of law.
- Agents must maintain positive relations with the client and with law enforcement officials
- Agents must be able to effectively communicate verbally with suspected shoplifters and members of law enforcement.
- Loss Prevention Agents will often be required to make decisions without the benefit of partnership in critical situations that could involve placing persons under citizen's arrest and may involve crisis situations including those that may involve physical harm to both the agent and to others, including hand-cuffing suspects. A high degree of professionalism and solid decision making ability is therefore required by Loss Prevention Agents.

Position Requirements:

- Experience in theft apprehension in retail setting a must( previous work undercover, arresting shoplifters)
- Fluent in English (Verbal & Written)
- Most positions require travel between multiple stores. Must have dependable transportation.
- Reliability / Punctuality is a MUST

Physical Requirements:

This position is a safety sensitive position.

- Must be able to stand/walk a minimum of 8 hours a day
- Must be able to use both hands to grip & hold at least 15 lbs
- Must have visual acuity that is 20/40 or better with both eyes together. May be corrected with soft contact lenses
- Must be able to understand speech in noisy areas, understand whispered speech & be able to localize sounds.
- Must be in good health with no conditions that would restrict your ability to physically apprehend a shoplifter
- No person who is currently taking any medication which could impair judgment or reflexes (even if prescribed by a doctor) can
work in the capacity of an LP Agent while taking such drugs. This includes but is not limited to all Opiate categorized drugs such as Vicodin.

Background/Licensing Requirements:

- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check & maintain a criminal history while employed so as not to have any
testimony deemed non-credible when testifying against a suspect in a criminal court.
- Must follow and maintain all state/county/city requirements for applicable licensing for Loss Prevention Agents.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening & work free of any drugs (prescription & over the counter) that are mind-
altering, reaction slowing or that can cause drowsiness while working.
- No person who is a sworn law enforcement officer may act in the capacity of a Loss Prevention agent due to potential conflict of
interest concerns.
- All LP Agents must be over the age of 18
