Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking Bilingual Field Data Collectors to work on a research study.


POSITION SUMMARY:
Field data collectors will be responsible for recruiting participants into the Cooking Matters study at selected locations in your city and in surrounding areas. The goal of the first ever national Cooking Matters Course Impact Study is to assess the short and long-term impacts of its six-week course for low-income households.

Successful candidates must have a flexible schedule and be able to commit to the full length of the data collection period, beginning June 16th.

Data Collectors will be stationed at locally assigned sites, including WIC offices, SNAP sites and Community Centers.

Previous experience with survey research, interviewing, and/or data collection is a plus!

Must pass Bilingual certification in order to be considered for this position.

FIELD DATA COLLECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Approach people and enroll respondents as they enter or leave assigned sites.
· Strictly follow study protocol.
· Travel to and complete assignments at assigned locations, such as YMCA's, grocery stores, WIC clinics, and public health departments.
· Use a prepared script to speak with people about the study and obtain their agreement to participate.
· Maintain confidentiality at all times.
· Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
· Satisfactorily complete project training program.
· Adhere to all project requirements and deadlines.
· Fed Ex data from vendor visits every night worked.
· Reliably submit project forms/materials on schedule.
· Reliably submit time and expense reports weekly.


SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Field Data Collectors must be people-oriented, professional, very well-organized, and able to follow study protocols with little to no supervision.
· Availability to work required hours as specified and mutually agreed upon at the time of hiring.
· Field data collectors are responsible for their own transportation, and must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle.
· Ability to adjust to the environment outdoors and weather conditions as encountered.
· Effectively communicate through speech and listening.
· Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
· Access to a computer with Internet access to participate in the training.
· Ability to adapt to various social environments and areas.
· Ability to maintain appropriate communication with supervisor multiple times per week or as needed to insure project schedule is being met
· Ability to accurately complete project documents.
· Ability to carry and set up a small folding table and chairs.

TRAINING AND PAY:
The pay for this position begins at $13.00/hour, and is dependent upon experience. Mileage will be reimbursed at $.56 per mile.

Employment on the study is contingent on successful completion of a background check and 4 hours of training; including a 2 hour web-training session scheduled for June 12, 2014.
