Customer Service Representative at MTD (Valley City)

compensation: $10.00/hr with salary increase up to $13.50/hr with full time hire

Customer Service Representative:

#1 Objective: Level 1 Sales Associates are responsible for managing inquiries and processing orders for parts sales. Provide the best customer experience possible.

Duties include:
Communicating with customers by phone in a professional manner at all times. Utilize parts lookup and publication tools for all brands to assist customers in locating the correct part.
Customers will call for one specific part but associate will educate them on additional parts that may be needed to coordinate with that part.
Customers will call with a specific unit they have and the associate will have to find the type and part that is needed for that specific unit.
Associate will have to navigate through multiple screens and utilize multiple resources to identify and locate parts and information. Maintain ability to multi-task on every call.
Record customer information in CRM.
Order processing and order entry of part number, shipping cost, and processing payment through credit or debit card.
Use up-sell/cross sell techniques when appropriate to increase sales. Suggest additional parts or related maintenance parts.
Always try to get at least three items in sale
Inform people about products that will be out of stock or discontinued to encourage them to purchase any additional products that are related.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Skills required:
Computer navigation and keyboarding skills
Excellent customer service skills (must be friendly, courteous, and helpful)
Defusing and retaining elevated customer contacts while demonstrating empathy for the customer
Professional and effective communication. This includes but is not limited to grammar, diction, tone of voice, and defusing and retaining customer contacts while demonstrating empathy.
Must have HS diploma or equivalent
Mechanical aptitude a plus
Experience or knowledge of lawn equipment a plus
Two plus years of prior customer service experience 

Hours
8:00a-2:00p or 2:00p-8:00p
Business hours- 8:00am-8:00pm Monday-Friday and 9:00am- 5:00pm Saturday

COMPENSATION
$10.00 hour to start
