Retail Technician Manager - Full-time / Part-time

While supervising Retail Auto Technicians, the Retail Technician Manager (RTM) will maintain retail technician efficiency levels to meet guidelines, ensure appropriate mechanical repairs, maintain technician quality standards, and ensure the timely distribution and completion of 30-day warranty repairs.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure all retail auto technician positions are properly staffed at all times.
• Participate in and endorse all CarMax training initiatives.
• Actively recruit and develop retail technicians.
• Ensure the successful career development of retail auto technicians through adherence to the CarMax Annual Performance Reviews, File Reviews, Performance Management, and the Annual Merit Review process.
• Handle all customer concerns (internal and external) in a quick, efficient, and friendly manner.
• Maintain Technician efficiency levels between 90% and 120%, with a store average minimum of 90% efficiency.
• Approve all labor requests on 30-day warranty repairs.
• Approve all ESP requests under $700.
• Approve all diagnostic time over 1 hour on a repair order (RO).
• Control the flow of vehicles to the retail auto technicians by proper distribution of new retail work and 30-day warranty repairs.
• Occasional management of production auto technician team on as-needed basis.
