Job Title: Production Supervisor for Fabrication Department
Terms of Employment: Full Time (Temp to Hire)
Pay: Based on Experience. Pay range is $50, 000 to $65, 000 a year.
2nd or 3rd shift
Qualifications:
Familiar with current OSHA standards
Familiar with QS and ISO standards
Able to work in a team based management environment
Ability to record, interpret documents, instructions; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties.
Minimum 3 years experience in the automotive industry preferred.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Scheduling workers (sometimes in shifts) to meet production schedules
Implementing economical, quality oriented production processes bearing in mind existing laws, regulations and instructions
Refitting and setting up work places, machines and equipment
Running in new production machinery in co-operation with corresponding section masters
Drafting technical and organizational improvement suggestions for production systems (reducing prorated times)
Control and monitoring of production processes
Production of given quantities to production sheets with a view to fulfilling the required batch composition
Preparation and monitoring of production job processing
Ensuring availability of materials required to process imminent production jobs
Ensuring containers are correctly marked
Ensuring orderly working practices and cleanliness training and instruction of employees reporting to this position dealing with administrative tasks relating to job processing
Supporting production manager for special projects
Specific operational skills:
Supporting the production manager to ensure production to quality guidelines
Responsibility for recording pertinent details (production sheets, work and testing cards, details of individual hours worked / piece rates to facilitate wages calculation, recording downtimes on shift reports etc.) in the required quality, and communicating these details to wages clerks and work scheduling clerks
Performing care of machines, equipment, tools relating to the area of responsibility
Arranging for maintenance work from outside the department
Monitoring work places, assembly lines and other work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations
Co-operation in stock-taking and intermediate stock-taking
Assisting other sections with specialist knowledge to answer technical queries
