IT Business Analyst - Multiple Locations - Full-time / Part-time

-Evaluates business requirements and prepares detailed specifications that follow project guidelines required to develop written programs
-Formulates, defines and documents the functional system specifications
-Devises or modifies procedures that solve complex business problems with due consideration for hardware/software capacity and limitations, operating times and the desired results
-Analyzes and revises existing functional documentation
-Generates innovative ideas to resolve problems
-Responsible for meeting or exceeding all defined target goals and milestone dates for the project in order to ensure its overall success
-Assists in training junior level personnel in technical complexities of assigned work
-Develop and implement effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes
- Work with business segments to better define project requirements for development and implementation
- Translate requirements into technical specifications
- Work with developers to get projects developed and implemented
- Testing of designed solutions via specified claim applications.

Locations: Basking Ridge, NJ - Hartford, CT - Plymouth, MN - Greenville, SC

Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working in the different phases of development
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of experience as a business, systems, or data analyst
- High level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes required.
- Excellent communication, time/project management, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills required.
- Ability to organize work and maintain detailed, high quality documentation
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Experience working with one or more software development lifecycle methodologies
- Understanding of data gathering/analysis
- Knowledge of the Software (System) Development Life Cycle
- Experience working with test plans and test cases

Assets
-Experience working in any area of healthcare or other insurance field
-Familiarity with one of UHG's core claim platforms
-Experience as a data or reporting analyst
