We have a full-time opening for a Paralegal.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Wage: 15-20

Requirements

Responsible for providing research support to the Counsel while accurately performing a wide variety of administrative support duties for the Legal Department

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    Research relevant statutes, case law, legal articles, and other writings to address inquiries.
    Proofread and assist with preparation of contracts and other legal documents.
    Monitor status of hospital/vendor contracts and follow-up on outstanding items.
    Monitor status of entity and state business filings in order for timely renewal.
    Create, update and maintain databases, manuals, and departmental files (electronic and paper).
    Compose, prepare, and distribute word processing documents, spreadsheets, and reports.
    Perform administrative functions including typing, filing, answering phones and using standard office machines.
    Perform other duties as needed.


Shift: Monday- Friday 8am-4:30pm


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and documents.
    Ability to pay close attention to detail and to produce extremely accurate work.
    Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    Thorough knowledge and skills using personal computers with strong emphasis on Word, Excel, and Adobe.
    Courteous and professional oral and written communication skills with coworkers, various levels of management and business contacts; emphasis on proper English and correct grammar usage.
    Proficient use of the internet and other resources to gather/research information.
    Ability to problem-solve.
    Competency working in a multi-task environment and in coordinating various activities simultaneously.
    Basic mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.

10.  Work overtime as the departmental needs may require.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Associate degree in paralegal or legal administrative assisting OR high school diploma/equivalent with a minimum of three years’ legal assisting and/or administrative experience required.   Notary Certification a plus.
