Position Description:

This position requires extensive and in-depth interaction with patients, co-workers, Insurance companies, Government and State entities, and other Hospital personnel. The Patient Care Coordinator positions require the ability to multi-task by learning other entities of Registration facets. Emphasis on team collaboration, cooperation, and continually improving the accuracy and efficiency of what the job entails.


Employees in this position are responsible for patient check in, completing the face-to-face patient interview, answering billing questions, and managing patient medical records via documentation scanning. Candidate must have the ability to work in a fast paced , high patient volume environment. Roles may vary based on the size of the hospital(s).

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable with various Insurance products (Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, etc.).
  • Ability to identify and address patient issues. 
  • Collect co-pays and deductibles.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written Communication skills.
  • Able to demonstrate practical applications of goal setting, quality control procedures and problem solving.
  • Safeguard confidential information.
  • Complete face to face interview with patient.
  • Obtain signatures on hospital compliance forms.
  • Prioritize workflow and demonstrate appropriate judgment.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ year of experience in Hospital Admissions or Registration. 
  • Previous Cash Handling experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual fluency with English and Spanish.
  • Previous experience working in a Physician's office.
  • Billing or Collections experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Basic (or higher) level of CPT Code knowledge.
