POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensuring timely, accurate and complete responses to compliance monitoring activities established by regulatory agencies
- Work closely with the legal team to monitor and evaluate the organizations compliance with all approved standards and make appropriate recommendations for actions needed to satisfy necessary requirements
- Assist the Lead Analyst in the review of controls and recordkeeping practices to ensure compliance and satisfactory conclusions to any audit
- Assist IT in the development and maintenance of tools needed to track compliance, support audits and store necessary information and approvals
- Ability to identify and inform Lead Analyst of potential areas of compliance improvement, imminent changes/modifications of current compliance rules
- Work with other Business Units to identify and inform of potential areas of compliance improvement, imminent changes/modifications of current compliance rules with Lead Analyst oversight.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training required to support the compliance initiatives and requirements of the Corporate Compliance team
- Work cooperatively with co-worker(s) on accomplishing shared/departmental goals as outlined by the Director, Corporate Compliance.
- Demonstrate understanding/interpretation of NERC Reliability Standards, regional standards, and FERC rules and regulations.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
- BA/BS degree in business, economics, engineering or a related field of study (preferred but not required)
- Some knowledge on NERC and FERC related activities (preferred)
- Prior experience working in analysis, compliance, finance or accounting, public policy, even as an intern a huge plus.
- Broad understanding of the assigned business area and an in-depth knowledge of the legislation, regulations, compliance policies and standards.
- Position requires commitment to constant improvement in processes and proactive approach to evolving regulations.
- Assists with decisions for compliance projects and processes, including working with personnel from other departments on both projects and regulatory compliance issues.
- Ability to multi-task in order to meet tight deadlines
- Abitlity to communicate effectively with all levels of employees within an organization
- Must be extremely detail-oriented and self-motivated with the ability to think independently and creatively
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills
