The Assistant Store Manager Accelerated Management Program - Full-time / Part-time

The Assistant Store Manager will act as ambassador of the store for both our customers and employees while demonstrating excellent people skills and a true passion for food. The Assistant Store Manager will lead 70-100 store employees while being responsible for interviewing, selection, retention, supervision, and development, evaluation of employees, as well as, store sales, gross margins, labor and profits. The Assistant Store Manager can experience the opportunity to grow through promotion within the first year of employment up to and including multi-store responsibility. The Assistant Store Manager will be expected to demonstrate leadership skills through the demonstration of building and maintaining professional relationships across the company, directing and developing our employees through the use of Situational Frontline Leadership, and demonstrating expert level skills in self-management to include leading by example and modeling the desired professional behaviors of all employees. The Assistant Store Manager will demonstrate the ability to make sound business decisions and ensuring that they are action oriented in an ever changing retail environment. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Store Manager to ensure that the work environment for our employee is one that is safe, warm, and inclusive. In order to be considered for an Assistant Store Manager opening in the Accelerated Management Program all interested individuals must be willing and able to relocate with The Fresh Market to a minimum of 60% of our locations within the United States for either lateral career opportunities or promotional opportunities. In addition, The Fresh Market requires previous multi-unit management experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail including, but not limited to interviewing, selection, retention, supervision, development, evaluation of employees, and responsibility for sales, gross margins, labor and profits.

Previous direct management responsibility of 50 plus employees is required. Basic math skills for ordering and inventory are required. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated with a sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment at all times with all levels of employees. The job requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects. Weekend, evening, and holiday work will be required in the position.
