Description

Operations Manager

The Operations Manager has overall operations responsibility for directing the safe, efficient, quality, and cost-effective lean manufacture of high-quality product at a the Dr Pepper Snapple Groups Concentrate facility in St Louis Missouri. This position is part of the plant's leadership team and reports to the plant manager. Will be accountable for production and packaging of beverage products that comply with quality standards and meet customer demand in a safe working environment producing over thirty million gallons per year. Responsible for up to five production supervisors managing eight production lines, four compounding areas, quality control, maintenance, and sanitation activities.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Drives continuous improvement in the operations team performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
  2. Implements new performance management systems, production plans and performance criteria. Confirms production progress; responds to delays; takes corrective actions; and records KPI performance. Creates and implements improvement plans for the overall operation.
  3. Committed to team based problem solving within operations and capable of fostering individual development across the team.
  4. Incorporates and maintains safety, including use of all personal protective equipment by employees, ensuring guards and safety features are working, and promoting good daily safety practices and habits.
  5. Ensures team understands roles and responsibilities as it relates to core accountabilities, including safety, quality, productivity and delivery.
  6. Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, administers discipline, insures positive employee relations and reviews the performance of employees. Builds bench strength through active development of direct reports.
  7. Manages financial aspects of the operation area including annual budget development, capital planning and administration.
  8. Has knowledge of compounding, solvents, and liquid packaging.
  9. Possesses a basic understanding of labor and federal regulations.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or Management
  • 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with SAP or similar manufacturing application
