Flexographic Press Assistant and Press Operators needed for:

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 4:30PM – 5:00AM

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 4:30AM – 5:00PM

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 4:30PM – 5:00AM.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assure that press operators have all necessary supplies to continually run the press, by performing the following tasks.
  • Preview job order and inspect incoming job’s mounted photopolymer plates, water base inks, substrates and detail information.
  • Help in all stages of press changeovers, including installing and removing anilox rolls, ink drip pans, cylinders and ink containers.
  • Wash press and return job components and ink pans at end of run.
  • Keep rolls of base material and laminate stocked on press.
  • Check and maintain pH and viscosity of inks and coatings.
  • Lubricate and oil the press as needed.
  • Clean the equipment during and at the end of the shift per prescribed procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work area throughout the shift.
  • Learn some aspects of plate mounting and color matching.
  • Assist in preparing quality status forms for work flow documentation.
  • Learn the press operation sufficiently to monitor press runs during operator breaks; the press assistant can be a natural progression to operator trainee position if interest, aptitude and good attendance are part of the press assistants demonstrated performance and skills.


REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos, as well as the ability to write simple correspondence and communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Strong math skills, with the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; must be able to read a ruler in 16ths and 32nds.
  • Excellent common sense and understanding, used to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs at times extending arms reaching across the body to install rollers and cylinders equipment.
