Southwest Medical Associates (SMA) is a multi-specialty group of physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants consisting of over 200 providers, fourteen clinical locations including nine health care centers, five urgent care clinics and an outpatient surgery center. SMA offers patients compassion, innovation, and quality care throughout southern Nevada. SMA is headquartered in the greater Las Vegas, NV area.

In this position you will provide Rheumatology patient care that is compassionate, appropriate and effective for the treatment of health problems and the promotion of health.  You will enjoy working with our employees who work with professionalism, as manifested through a commitment to carrying out professional responsibilities, adherence to ethical principles, and sensitivity to a diverse patient population.

We run a systems-based practice, as manifested by actions that demonstrate an awareness of and responsiveness to the larger context and system of health care and the ability to effectively call on system resources to provide care that is of optimal value


You will use your scientific knowledge, the scientific method of problem solving, evidence-based decision making to evaluate and treat diseases of joints, muscle, bones and tendons. You will diagnose and treat arthritis, back pain, muscle strains, common athletic injuries and 'collagen' diseases. You will use your injection skills for medication administration, specialty based skills for rheumatology.


 


We offer an attractive base salary, sign on bonus, bonus plan, and comprehensive fringe benefits package, including medical, dental, and life insurance, STD/LTD, professional liability, matching 401K, relocation costs, three weeks paid vacation, one week paid CME with $3500 allowance, and eight paid holidays. Differential for supervision of extenders.

Requirements

Residency and fellowship trained, board certified or board eligible (required); active unrestricted Medical license,3 year internal medicine residency plus 2 year rheumatology fellowship, both at ACGME accredited programs
