Position Purpose

The Senior Analyst for this position will be a member of the Vendor Compliance team within the Supply Chain Development portfolio.  This team is responsible for the design, implementation and support of compliance programs and reporting to hold vendors accountable for meeting required performance metrics (e.g. on time shipping, product fill rates, etc.) to drive improved service for our stores and customers.   

In this role, the Sr Analyst will wear several hats.  First, they will serve as a technical resource for the existing Vendor Compliance system.  This includes ensuring that scheduled processes run successfully so that the system is available for vendors and working with an offshore contractor to resolve production support issues.  As well, they will be responsible developing new tools/reports to enable improved efficiencies for the team and vendors.

In addition to being a technical resource on the team, the Sr Analyst will also become a subject matter expert on vendor compliance processes/systems and serve in an operational capacity.  Specifically, they will assist the vendor support team with the resolution of more complex vendor compliance questions and issues.  This includes assessing root cause issues through research/analysis and providing recommended solutions to resolve. 

Last, the Sr Analyst in this role will help lead project workstreams as the opportunities arise. This will include driving various operational initiatives such as implementation of new metrics/compliance programs.  As well, it may also include partnering with the IT team to help design, test and implement new/enhanced IT systems.  In these project roles, the Sr Analyst will be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders to drive alignment and implement proposed solutions and tracking the project to ensure that it is delivered within the required timeframes.

To be successful in this role, the Sr Analyst must be results-driven and able to operate in both a technical and operational capacity. They must be analytical and possess strong SQL/MS SQL server development skills.  As well, they must exhibit strong customer service/partnering skills and be able to juggle multiple priorities at once and deliver within required timeframes.

EDUCATION REQUIRED
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years business experience
  • MBA and/or management consulting experience
  • Previous retail and/or supply chain experience
  • Experience with Cognos, Microstrategy/Teradata and other BI development tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Experience with Systems Development lifecyle and methodologies (waterfall, agile)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES

  • Proficient in business process evaluation.  Able to understand complex business processes and outline changes/improvements to meet business needs.
  • Possesses strong analytical/critical thinking skills.  Able to identify the pros/cons of alternative solutions and foresee future implications of proposed solutions.
  • Highly proficient with SQL and development of data interfaces and reports using MS development tools            (SSIS, SSRS, Access).  Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) beneficial but not required.  
  • Strong communication and partnering skills.  Demonstrates ability to clearly articulate thoughts across varying audiences and drive consensus.
  • Good project planning/management skills.  Effectively plans work and manages against plan to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to multitask and handle competing priorities at once.
