Support the
Subrogation team by establishing subrogation cases on the system, identifying,
obtaining and compiling the necessary documentation for the subrogation file
and perform other duties that allow the Analysts to focus on complex
subrogation issues.  Manage incoming work
queues in order to meet client expectations. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Investigate
    accidents, identify sources of recovery, assert subrogation interests
  • Screen
    data received from client to determine viability of subrogation case
  • Open
    and set up new subrogation files
  • Call
    or write insured or other parties of interest to obtain missing information,
    monitor receipt and followup as needed, post information to subrogation system
  • Place
    all interested parties on notice of subrogation interest
  • Periodic
    review of claim system to update medical payment summary  
  • Maintain
    working knowledge of ERISA and ensure adherence to state and federal
    subrogation laws
  • Ensure
    compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act
  • Review
    daily activity checklist (diary system) to monitor status of subrogation case
    and determine priorities for case handling
  • Communicate
    effectively with various parties using all forms of correspondence throughout
    the subrogation process.  The associate
    will correspond with plaintiff's attorney, defense counsel, third party
    insurers, and all other parties of interest
  • Manage
    multiple work queues with a wide variety of input to prioritize work
    accordingly and meet client SLAs
  • Assist
    with training and mentoring other Associates as needed
  • Other
    tasks or projects as needed to support the Subrogation Team


Requirements


Requirements:
  • High school Diploma/ GED
  • 1+ year
    experience in any of these areas: managed health care, P&C
    insurance, law firm or subrogation company
  • Candidate
    must be highly organized with effective and exceptional communication skills
  • Strong
    analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills required; ability to
    exercise good judgment
  • Ability to
    prioritize work, handle multiple tasks and work independently required
  • Exceptional
    telephone and customer service skills; ability to interact professionally in
    challenging situations
  • Must be
    flexible and able to adapt to changing work loads and team requirements
  • Beginner level of understanding with MS Word and Outlook
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Extended periods of sitting at a computer and use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse
