UnitedHealth Group is growing!  We are currently searching for an experienced IT Claims Systems Analyst to join us in our Detroit, Michigan or Phoenix, Arizona location.  In this hands-on, attention to detail role, you will be responsible for providing solutions to the facets team.  Our team is the subject matter experts in both Medicare and Medicaid claims payment and claims transfer.  The IT Claims Systems Analyst will take a set of Business Requirement and consult with Business, Peers, Technical staff etc to determine best system solution to satisfy requirements. The analyst will then produce a comprehensive analysis to be presented to the client to select the best option. Solution can be as easy as making a small change to a data feed to a complex one including interdependencies within multiple applications.


 


Additional Responsibilities:


 



  • Evaluate business requirements and prepare detailed specifications that follow project guidelines required to develop written programs

  • Formulate, define and document the functional system specifications

  • Devise or modify procedures that solve complex business problems with due consideration for hardware/software capacity and limitations, operating times and the desired results

  • Analyze and revise existing functional documentation

  • Generate innovative ideas to resolve problems

  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding all defined target goals and milestone dates for the project in order to ensure its overall success

  • Assist in training junior level personnel in technical complexities of assigned work

Requirements


  • 5 years experience in System Analysis and Systems Configuration

  • 5 years of healthcare insurance industry experiences, with knowledge of government run programs

  • 5 years of writing system requirements including facilitating Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions

  • 4 years of experience in Trizetto Facets system analysis preferred

  • 5 years experience in EDI Eligibility (HIPAA 834, 270, 271) etc.

  • Proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems required (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent communication, time/project management, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills required

  • Working knowledge of relational databases, database structures

  • Ability to write SQL queries without assistance       

 


Assets:


 



  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years of experience working in the different phases of development including detailed knowledge of the Software(System) Development Life Cycle

  • In-depth understanding of reimbursement methodologies and policies

  • Understanding of claims adjudication procedures, standards and editing guidelines

  • Knowledge of government programs coding and billing compliance rules

  • 5 years of Relational Database experience

  • Understanding of data gathering/analysis

  • Experience working with test plans and test cases
