As a IT Project Manager within our Optum Technology EPMO organization, you will be accountable for project  leadership of large IT projects.  Specific responsibilities in the initial role will include:

 


  • Leading engagements/projects/programs to successful completion

  • Owning, end-to-end accountability for engagement/project/program delivery

  • Engaging with client leadership to ensure proper expectation setting

  • Partnering with stakeholders (internal and external to Optum) to ensure proper strategy, plan, alignment, integration and visibility

  • Driving consensus and decision-making with business, IT and executive management

  • Influencing leaders to balance competing priorities

  • Leading matrixed teams to common solutions

  • Maintaining visibility on day-to-day activities with project teams AND ensuring sufficient face-time with key stakeholders

  • Providing status reporting to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis

  • Managing engagement/project/program financials

  • Mitigating risks and addressing engagement/project/program obstacles as needed

 

Requirements


  • 10+ years Project Management experience in a large enterprise environment (Fortune 200)

  • 5+ years technical experience in one or more aspects of Information Systems Development or Business / Information Systems areas

  • Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project management

  • Professional PM methodology trained

  • Budget tracking and complex cost benefit analysis

  • Ability to build and manage relationships across a large enterprise

  • C-level interface and presentation skills

  • Ability to influence decisions from top down and bottom up

  • Solid analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills.

  • Proficiency in computer software such as Project, Power Point, Excel and Mini Tab

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience

  • Hands-on SW Development

  • Exposure to multiple PM methodologies

  • Agile

  • Process implementation & re-engineering

  • Business Analysis project management

  • MS Access - ad hoc reporting

  • Big 4 or Professional Services experience

  • Graduate Degree
