Positions in this function includes those responsible for initial triage of members, administrative intake of members or managing the admission/discharge information post-notification, working with hospitals and the clinical team.  Includes managing incoming calls, managing requests for services from providers/members, providing information on available network services and transferring members as appropriate to clinical staff.  Manages the referrals process, processes incoming and outgoing referrals and prior authorizations.  This function includes intake, notification and census roles.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist with member assignment to Care Manager according to geographical location and caseload
  • Initiate and process eligibility conversion paperwork and transition forms
  • Participate in clerical duties related to membe/provider satisfaction surveys
  • Contact members and/or providers on behalf of the Care Management Team
  • Assist with member outreach activities as directed to include ER visit follow up calls
  • Generate monthly reports such as enrollment/disenrollment, ICP due, assessment due and distribute according to Care Coordination roster and department policy
  • Utilize plan software to enter data, generate reports and monitor member assignments
  • Perform other duties/project as needed 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years experience in an office setting using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform the job duties
  • 2+ years experience in Clerical or Administrator role 
  • 2+ years customer service experience
  • Thorough knowledge and expertise with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and/or Medicare health care and insurance industry
  • Microsoft Access knowledge
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
