The purpose of the Agent Manager, Sales is to build relationships and help Independent Agents who sell the UnitedHealth Group portfolio of products offered to Medicare beneficiaries and individuals age 50+ with business development. The Agent Manager is responsible for achieving assigned sales/membership growth targets through Independent Agents in his/her territory/territories. These Agents are not employees of UnitedHealth Group but rather independent sales agents who contract with UnitedHealth Group to sell this portfolio of products.  They may also sell additional/alternative products.


 


Responsibilities:


Recruiting is a primary responsibility.  Sourcing candidates to ensure a continual pipeline and sufficient base of agents to meet assigned sales/membership growth targets.


Ability to develop a strategy, embrace strategy and most importantly execute strategy.
Ability to inspire agents to excel and influence selling patterns.
Train to ensure an accurate understanding of our products, compliance/policy requirements, sales processes, brand and value proposition messages and sales systems.
Organize agent activities, leads and territories to ensure effective and efficient coordination across the territory.
 
Drive production among the agents
 
Use data and insights to coach for optimal performance.
 
Monitor sales results, trends and key performance indicators (KPI's) and hold representatives accountable for achieving targets.
 
Conduct regular trainings and meetings to review sales results/activities and provide feedback/coaching on opportunities for sales growth.


Ensure Compliance/ adhere to sales and marketing guidelines associated with Medicare regulations, partner expectations (e.g.; AARP) and company policies and procedures.
 

Requirements

Qualification:
 
5+  years sales experience required
 
2+ years work experience in the insurance, financial services or healthcare industry required.
 
Previous management experienced strongly preferred, as is sales experience with Medicare products.


 


Excellent communications skills both verbal and written



Business development experience preferred in a direct to consumer environment with demonstrated ability to consistently achieve assigned sales/growth targets.
 
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
 
Health license must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintained as required by state law.


 


Up to 40% travel through out the state will be required
