Community Outreach Specialists engage, solicit and act as community ambassadors on behalf of UHG.  They work within the community, assigned region, service area, and/or urban areas to foster healthy partnerships and relationships while building UHG brand awareness. The Outreach Specialist is charged with identifying key health issues and concerns as well as community-based programmatic successes within their respective service areas/regions. They are responsible for compiling and organizing their informational findings and making that available to the Health Plan leadership. The Community Outreach Specialist is assigned a region/service area and has full responsibility and accountability for development of their respective markets. The Outreach Specialist works independently to develop opportunities for collaboration with community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, community leaders and advocates, schools, senior centers, etc.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 2+ years of Community Outreach experience.
  • 2+ years of Marketing or Event Planning experience.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and a dependable, insured vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • OH Health and Life Insurance License. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
