As the Agile Delivery Director, you will be responsible for leading the Agile transformation for multiple value streams to support the delivery of strategic technology products.  A significant portion of this will be influencing and driving change in regards to scaling Agile leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) model as well as programs that contain high degrees of integration with waterfall based applications.  This position has potential for direct reports, so we are seeking an Agile professional with experience leading teams and people from a human resources and career development perspective.

 

If you have previously led Agile/Scrum adoption in the past as well as those who drive and influence change and can effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, this position will allow you to grow personally and professionally as well as make a real difference in health care.  

 

Responsibilities:


  • Act and as an adoption/transformation lead for one for multiple value streams of work

  • Serve as an Agile Program Lead to facilitate program level grooming activities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the program team, other Agile Program Leads and Scrum Masters

  • Ensure cross-value stream coordination and collaboration

  • Reach out to the larger company network for impediment removal

  • Maintain relevant metrics that help the program see how they are doing

  • Liaise between the developers and User Experience/Visual Designers. Foster better communication between the disciplines.

  • Act as a liaison to assigned program manager and project managers

  • Take responsibility for managing dependencies between our team and third parties, release managers, or between our team and other scrum teams

  • Actively contribute to the company's Agile and Lean Community through participation in the internal Agile Community of Practice and Scrum Master Forums

  • Lead and manage a team of Agile Program Leads and Scrum Masters

  • Develop, coach, and mentor team members to advance their skills and career

  • Understanding of:


  • Backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition

  • Incremental delivery and the value of metrics


  • Basic fundamentals of iterative development


  • Basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures

 

Requirements


  • 10+ years of IT experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Product Owner or Agile Coach

  • 3+ years of leading/managing people

  • 3+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple Scrum team projects

  • 2+ years of experience working on mixed methodology program (Scrum interfacing with Waterfall from a dependency perspective)

  • Experience acting as a Scrum Master for multiple scrum teams

  • Experience with Rally

  • Experience with various Testing techniques such as Test Driven Development and Experience with behavior driven testing. 

  • Experience and understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and Frameworks (service layer isolation)

  • Experience and understanding of Front End User Experience and Front End Development technologies such as HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Excellent English communication skills in written and spoken form

  • Scrum Master Industry certification

  • SAFe Certification(s)

  • Lean Methodology Certifications

  • Healthcare experience

  • Understanding of other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise

  • Understanding of the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team

  • Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices

  • Participation in industry agile communities

  • Graduate Degree
