This position is part of a team for creating and supporting new, innovative solutions for the Optum InSight Life Sciences market, as well as developing and delivering on competitive roadmaps for the existing Clinformatics product portfolio.  This role requires an experienced, assertive and customer-focused Product Manager. Position will utilize combined life sciences, healthcare and technical background to create new products to solve life sciences and healthcare issues.  In this fast paced position, the Product Manager will work with customers and internal stakeholders, including Business leaders, Subject Matter Experts, Software Development and Quality Control teams. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Defining and driving the execution of roadmaps for new and existing Life Sciences product offerings.

  • Understanding the Life Sciences markets and working with Business and Sales leads to best position Optum's products and services in this space.

  • Facilitate, manage and participate in the gathering and documenting of business requirements from both customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Analyzing administrative healthcare data, methodologies, and business logic.  Make recommendations based on analysis findings.

  • Oversee testing and validation activities.

  • Creating and reviewing product documentation.

  • Consulting with internal stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Creating internal processes that improve work flow efficiency.

 

Requirements



  • A Bachelors degree in healthcare, business, or technology related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years experience as a product manager and/or business analyst in a healthcare technology or data setting.  Experience with software development of decision support applications focused on provider evaluation or provider data sharing is highly desired. 

  • Strong knowledge of healthcare administrative data (medical and pharmacy claims, enrollment, provider data).

  • Solid PC computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications.

  • Experience with relational databases and SQL queries preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Testing and validation experience is desired.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Individual must have a strong quality focus.
