Responsibilities:



  • Work closely with architects, technology and business leaders to define technical and business strategy and lead the execution of strategic plans

  • Maintain appropriate alignment of projects with technical strategy and business priorities

  • Work with architects to drive product architecture and evolution including product convergence and integration

  • Set technical direction and drive developer productivity

  • Oversee ongoing development including technical analysis, design, and implementation following Agile/Scrum SDLC methodology

  • Perform schedule, resource, communication and risk management

  • Work closely and collaboratively with onshore and offshore stakeholders in QA, performance engineering, product management and client implementation to ensure successful product delivery and production deployment

  • Ensure solutions are engineered for a secure, reliable, high performing, highly-available experience for end users

  • Participate in development of new development processes and drive process evolution

  • Drive technical excellence and best in class software development practices in organizational culture and all ongoing activities

  • Facilitate organizational learning through Lessons Learned and Root Cause Analysis

  • Establish clear goals, objectives and priorities that reflect the organization's vision

  • Identify and proactively monitor metrics that can effectively report the overall health of our SaaS solution

  • Recruit, coach and develop, and retain top management and technical talent. Ensure the team has appropriate training and tools for maximum development productivity and velocity

  • Conduct performance reviews of team members, identify strengths and weaknesses, and utilize resources appropriately

Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field

  • Minimum of 8 years of Software Engineering experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct management of medium to large software development programs and resources

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience identifying and hiring top engineering talent and developing a team

  • Experience managing management staff

  • Strong understanding of multiple development practices and processes

  • Ability to provide guidance to team in the identification and resolution of issues

  • Desire and ability to multitask

  • Experience working in a fast paced environment

  • Proven track record of having dealt with complex systems and environments

  • Strong leadership presence, ability to motivate and drive staff to get results. 

  • Positive and proactive leadership style

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to drive strategy and balance long-term vs. short term objectives

 


Assets:



  • Experience in management of outsourced development including initial team setup, build out and technology transfer

  • Health care background

  • Familiarity with the development of SaaS solutions
