We are looking for a Big Data Oracle DBA to join our team. This position requires someone who has seen the vagaries of Oracle database administration and wants to work collaboratively with senior Oracle DBAs.
Typical tasks required are:
- Automating repetitive administration and replication tasks using PL/SQL and shell scripts
- Assisting end users with very basic SQL question and more knowledgeable users with SQL tuning or refinement
- Testing backup and recovery scenarios
- Administration of databases with both Enterprise Manager Grid Control and command line operations
- Analysis and determination of database performance characteristics, for problem detection, and trend forecasting.
- Monitoring storage capacity and utilization
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years use & knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PLSQL
- 2+ years of Unix/Linux knowledge including Shell scripting
- Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Work experience in Oracle 11g
- Experience with and willingness to support 24x7 production environments
- Strong communications skills and collaborative work style
- Willingness to learn new Oracle (and other) technologies
Assets:
- Data Warehouse experience
- ASM & RAC Experience
- Experience with multi-terabyte databases
- Experience with Oracle Performance Monitoring & Tuning
- Work experience in Oracle 12c
