Accounting Manager

TrueBlue, Inc. has an opportunity for a top performing Accounting Manager at its Corporate Headquarters in Tacoma, WA.

This leadership position is responsible for managing all general ledger close processes, developing and maintaining accounting practices and procedures, and managing accounting internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for TrueBlue, Inc. The individual manages a team of professional accountants in the general ledger department and is a key member of our Corporate Accounting & Finance team in producing financial statements and other key reports to executive management. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing quarterly and annual SOX section 404 processes and supports quarterly and annual external audits, as well as contributing to the success of our reporting to the SEC.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieves accounting objectives by managing the monthly general ledger close process, investigating and analyzing results, reviewing and preparing accounting artifacts, implementing service level standards, completing audits, and reporting results to leadership and branch operations.
  • Key member of Accounting & Finance team helping to produce our financial statements and other reports for senior management. Works with subject matter experts across the company to complete the monthly accounting process . Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.
  • Manages tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.
  • Achieves accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Accomplishes accounting human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, evaluating and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Maintains financial security by establishing and implementing internal controls an follows strictly all SOX 404 policies and procedures; deploys SOX 404 throughout the organization.
  • Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
  • Partners with other leaders throughout the company to complete special projects, technical accounting analyses, and purchase accounting.
  • Avoids legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation and applying policies established by management.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area. CPA designation.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting management and financial reporting responsibilities including leading and developing a team of professionals
  • Experienced in preparing consolidated financial statements and performing comparative analysis.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX, and internal controls.
  • C omfortable working in a multi-company structure with foreign currencies.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal);interpersonal communication and consultative skills.
  • Goal oriented self starter with strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Self starter who works well within a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong knowledge of Excel; familiar with ERP accounting systems. Ability to adapt & master new computer software.
  • Experience of delivering results through the actions of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and ability to adapt in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
  • Ability and history of leading successful process change and improvement initiatives.
  • Reputation of accuracy, attention to detail and keeping stakeholders updated.


Desired Qualifications
  • ERP accounting system and report writing (Crystal) experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Lawson a plus.
  • Public Accounting experience desired.
