Our client, is looking to hire a Quality Manager directly with their company. Qualified candidates should be NDT/NDE Level III certified with some management experience.
MUST HAVES
- Level 3 Certified Non destructive testing in RT, UT, PT, MT
- Management/supervisory experience
- Preferable having experience testing pressure vessels
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Maximizing quality and reliability by coordinating quality objectives with other managers.
- Inspects and tests welded joints of work in progress and of completed units for visible defects, correct dimensions, joint strength, weld penetration, and conformance with layout, blueprint, and work order specifications.
- Identifying and spearheading plans for resolution on all problems, as well as leading the Quality Control organization.
- Assist with the selection, hiring, training, and provide ongoing leadership of assigned personnel to meet schedules, quality and measurements, and organizational goals.
- Conduct on the job training and provide guidance to trainees and NDE personnel.
- Leads or assists during internal and external audits (ASME, ISO, and customer).
- Receives materials and reviews Material Test Report to determine dimension specifications, measurements and tests required to ensure quality.
- Verifies calibration of inspection tools, corrects issue if calibration is inaccurate.
- Interprets various codes for required inspection parameters and prepares accurate and concise technical reports upon results.
- Records inspection results and completes reports (including quality and cost) and related documentation or data entry in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for interpretation of x-ray film, ultrasonic test and liquid penetrant test results for compliance.
- Performs minor maintenance of vacuum pumps on mass spectrometer leak detectors, vacuum systems, instrument calibration, recording test data, operating x-ray film development equipment, set-up of equipment for tests, hydro or pneumatic testing.
- Initiates and assists MRB (Material Review Board) in resolving problems with non-conformance.
- Investigates and assists in the resolution of Corrective Action Reports (CAR's) as assigned.
- Interface with design engineering projects, assembly and vendors to assure requirements are met on time meeting specifications.
- Continuously improve production methods and develop processes by working with production to change or purchase new production equipment.
- Responsible for working in a safe manner at all times.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
