About this job

This position is responsible for forecasting, reporting and analysis of operating expense and FTEs for Optum Specialty Networks.

 


  • Partner with operational business leaders to collaboratively manage budgets.

  • Build periodic operating expense forecasts and present to finance senior leadership.

  • Collaborate with segment finance and business operations to understand and demonstrate complex concepts in ways that lead to understanding by a variety of audiences.

  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis, summarize and present to a larger audience.

  • Perform monthly close analysis of variances to forecast, submit reclasses to accounting, provide variance commentary as needed.

  • Create financial models and analyze metrics.

  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate investment opportunities and cost savings initiatives to maximize resources and create efficiencies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in conjunction with budgeting and forecasting process.

  • Analyze membership changes and impact on FTEs and operating costs.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions

Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.


  • 4+ years of financial and operational management experience. 


  • Solid  financial acumen and P&L management skills.


  • Proven experience driving business performance in a high growth environment.


  • Prior work experience anticipating accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and operational issues, assessing their implications, and developing and implementing an appropriate action plan.

 


Preferred:




  • Project management or process improvement experience


  • MBA or CPA


  • Healthcare industry experience


  • Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft experience
