About this job
On a day to day basis the candidate will be accountable for receipt and initial quality inspection of material, proper handling and storage of material, outgoing logistics, final quality inspection of material before shipment, proper packaging for shipment , and accuracy of inventory and shipping/receiving documents.
Essential Functions:
-On received goods, checks for visible damage and counts all items unloaded from trucks, trailers, etc
Checks suppliers’ count and reports discrepancies and/or damage to carrier and purchasing dept
Inspects parts for damage and ensures that parts match prints; reports discrepancies to purchasing dept
Upon completion of receiving forwards receiving documents to purchasing
-Collects information for damage claims on in-transit damage
-Puts received goods away appropriately
-Maintains inventory in an organized manner
-Pulls inventory for production and stages appropriately; includes cutting profile to length
-Pulls inventory for order fulfillment and notes any backorder quantities on shipping documents
-Does final inspection of all parts; including quality inspection of fabricated parts made to print and kits
-Packages material for shipment appropriately (includes building of pallets, crates, etc if necessary)
-Makes any transportation arrangements as required
-Prepares bills of lading for shipments and records items loaded for shipment
-Upon completion of shipment, forwards shipping documents to accounting dept
-Moves material and loads/unloads trucks using a forklift and/or a hand truck
-Does cycle counts
Must have:
2-5 years working in a warehouse performing multiple functions
Must be able to operate a forklift
must pass drug and background
-Maintains a clean safe work area
