Aerotek is currently hiring for Quality Systems Specialist for a food manufacturing company located in Springfield, MO. This is a Direct Placement opportunity. Pay will be based on experience.

Looking for someone with experience in Quality Control within a food manufacturing environment.

This position is responsible to provide leadership / direction for multiple levels of the organization to develop and implement facility quality systems to meet the company, regulatory, and customer requirements for low acid canned foods (LACF) and acidified canned foods (ACF).
This position works directly with Corporate QA&C, Operations team members, and hourly employees to develop and maintain facility procedures, work instructions and forms to meet customer, company, SQF and regulatory requirements.
This position is responsible for plant document control.
This position is responsible to assist in the development and coordination of the facilities Operational Risk Management, Change Management program, Defective Material Reporting and Retort Maintenance log.
This position is responsible to provide GMP, Food Defense, Food Safety and Food Security training to all new hires, plant employees and on an as needed basis for Contractor Service providers and visitors.
Ensures the facilities quality systems documentation is audit and inspection ready at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible to provide assistance with implementation and enforcement of corporate quality policies and procedures. Participates in the development and maintenance of the facility HACCP program.
- Responsible to ensure the facilities product recall program is effective and in compliance with company, FDA and customer requirements.
- Responsible for quality assurance coordination and maintenance within the SAP inventory system. Provides support as needed in obtaining customer and R&D specifications and documentation for new product startup.
- Participates in and performs quality systems audits and weekly facility GMP and Food Safety Self Audits.
- Participates in Task Teams.
- This position is responsible to provide backup support as needed to perform LACF/ACF record review, master batch distribution and finished product releases.
- This position is responsible to perform project work as defined by the QA Manager.
- Compile, review and file quality system records.
- Enter product hold information into the company phase system on an as needed basis.
- Assist with preparing job training manuals.
- Ensure plant quality systems meet requirements for SQF.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment: manufacturing facility-- clean environment

Qualifications: High School diploma required, college preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in a food manufacturing environment working with QA/Quality Systems.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact well with people at multiple levels of the organization and with external customers in business and technical fields.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and functions.
- Must be a self starter, able to organize, prioritize as well as be able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must be confident and communicate well to present concepts and ideas to Operations team members.
- Must have strong problem solving skills.
- This is an individual contributor role that combines hands on abilities with procedural knowledge and skills.
- Must have advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
- Must follow all company employee safety, GMP’S and work in a manner consistent with Corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements along with other duties as assigned.
