About this job

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform the electronic maintenance, diagnoses and repairs of a variety of equipment including; diesel/gasoline engines, transmissions, high pressure pumps, centrifugal pumps, sand conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, mobile/overhead cranes, generators, chemical metering systems, 12/24 volt electrical systems, equipment cabs and controls, electro-mechanical equipment, and various other types of oil field related equipment.
* Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Compass.
* Install and configure electronic, electro-mechanical, and instrumentation equipment.
* Alignment and calibration of all Compass equipment electronics.
* Place orders and receive supplies as needed to maintain and repair electronic equipment.
* Perform and maintain records on preventative maintenance of equipment.
* Travel to locations to perform emergency repairs on electronics and instrumentation.
* Provide technical support to operators in the form of training on electronic equipment.
* May be required to work on a 24 hours call basis.
* Perform duties according to Policy and comply with all requirements of the, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Place Instructions.
* Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor and or Lead E-Tech within the physical constraints of the job.
* Execute required procedures for preventative electronics maintenance.
* Perform inspections required by company, and government entities.
* Proficient in troubleshooting electrical systems.
* Perform installation and/or replacement of new or reconditioned repair parts.
* Perform testing of equipment for proper operation.
* Understand and assist with interpreting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits, drawings and prints.
* Proficient use of diagnostic equipment.
* Complete and submit all required documents in a timely manner.
* Assist with the training of Electronic Tech's I, II, & III.
* Perform various other duties assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
* The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
* Valid driver's license.
* Satisfactory driving record as defined in Driver Qualification Policy.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Associates degree in electronic discipline preferred or equivalent related experience.
* Experience in maintenance and repair of instrumentation such as flow meters, transducers, densimeters and controllers.
* Knowledge of electronic test instruments and tools.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
* Ability to read blueprints and schematics to perform component troubleshooting.
* Ability to work flexible work schedule, including long and/or irregular hours.
* Must be willing to be on 24 hour call.
