Trash Route Workers Job Description
Trash route workers collect and dump refuse or recyclable materials from containers into truck. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Operate automated or semi-automated hoisting devices that raise refuse bins and dump contents into openings in truck bodies
Operate equipment that compresses collected refuse
Dump refuse or recyclable materials at disposal sites
Dismount garbage trucks to collect garbage and remount trucks to ride to the next collection point
Check road or weather conditions to determine how routes will be affected
Ideal Trash Route Workers Candidates
Relevant experience preferred
Able to jog, run, walk and lift 50 lbs entire shift
Committed to safety at all times
Reliable transportation
Excellent attendance
Pay Rate: $8.00 per hour to start
Shift/Hours: 1st shift, 4 am – finish, Monday - Saturday
