JOB SUMMARY

An IE Specialist is responsible for providing support to the numerous groups within the IE function.  Within the Functional User Group, he/she will assist FUR Supervisors in conducting training, managing UAT, and providing supports for the operation, especially for WMS (Warehouse Management System) functionalities.

JOB DUTIES

Major duties include assisting or performing the following:

Conduct training

  • Engages in the development of Train-the-Trainer educational tools.
  • Provides training to operation Super Users and Management Team via classroom, remote or in one-on-one settings.

 Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

  • Creates UAT test scripts, coordinate and/or perform UAT for new implementation, new functionally, and/or bug fixes.
  • Tracks and provides progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Reports application defects to IT/Project Team to ensure resolution prior to deployment.
  • Maintains application documentation to ensure that they are current, accurate, and user-friendly.

 Provide supports for continuous improvement, new project requests, and defect fixes.

  • Communicates to operation Super Users and Management Team of system outages and/or scheduled maintenance.
  • Provides assistance on application functionality questions, configurations, and enhancements.
  • Conducts Process Improvement Assessments, and provide recommendations on how operations may better utilize the applications.
  • Performs cost benefit analyses to ensure effective use of UPS resources and maximum return-on-investment on project requests.
  • Facilitates application enhancements through the IT Prioritization process.
  • Conducts data research

Work cross-functionally

  • Interacts with Super Users/Ops Management, IT, Implementation Project Manager, field IE, Marketing/Business Development, and other groups within the organization.  May also interact with external customers.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Must have strong analytical skills and ability to analyze work methods, processes, and flow.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written).  Prior experience in developing and facilitating training and/or public speaking is helpful.
  • Experience in Warehousing and in using Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably GWS and/or PKMS, is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Visio and MS Projects.
  • Flexibility to travel
  • An Associate's Degree in Industrial Engineering, IS, or Logistics is preferred.
  • Skills in SQL and databases are a plus.
  • EDI knowledge is a plus.
