The Territory Manager will be responsible for building productive relationships and partnering with Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and brokers to consult on new business requests, achieve financial goals by building a profitable book of business through new business sales and involvement on renewals. The Territory Manager will focus on selling our Stop Loss product but also have responsibility for selling additional Optum products including, Managed Transplant, Wellness, EAP, and Financial Services (HSA, HRA, etc.) individually and in conjunction with sales specialists.


-Create specific value proposition for each potential partnership resulting in a win/win/win for Optum, partner and end clients.


-Coordinate and leverage finance, product, technical and operational resources to develop roadmap for partnership execution.


-Effectively balance the competing priorities of different constituencies.


-Negotiate and execute contracts including financial arrangements working with legal, finance, underwriting, and executive management resources.


-Implement and execute each partnership driving towards key new customer goals and revenue objectives.


-Determine forecast for each partnership.


-Build and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with internal customers at all organizational levels as well as key people outside the organization.


 


Strong preference for candidate to be in Denver.  Territory includes CO, UT, NV, KS, ID, WY, and NM. 

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.


5+ years selling complex insurance products.


Proven broker and TPA relationships in the territory.


History of meeting aggressive sales targets.


Excellent time and territory management skills.


Strong interpersonal/relationship development skills.


Superior communication skills, ability to do formal presentations, write and converse effectively with sophistication.


Demonstrated ability to understand and develop strategies for multiple markets.


Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.


Reliable, insured transportation and a valid driver's license.


A license to sell health insurance in assigned states.


Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.


Ability to travel overnight.
