Subfamily Description
Promotes and sells HD Supply services to meet sales targets and generate revenue. Responds to customer needs and requirements with the appropriate HD Supply service. Maintains a high-level of customer service with existing customers and leverages relationships to expand business. Develops relationships with new clients by prospecting and responding to business development leads. Monitors and reviews customer sales activity and makes adjustments to processes and strategies as needed.

Position Purpose
Responsible for profitably growing sales to achieve yearly growth goals through the development of relationships with emphasis on solutions for emerging industries and markets. Responsible for prospecting for new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and increasing opportunities with new and existing customers using a consultative selling approach to deliver value to our customers. Grow sales by identifying key opportunities and recommending programs and product that support the customer business model. Provide service to meet customer needs through knowledge of the company service capabilities, programs, and HD Supply product offering to achieve maximum market penetration.


Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Manages and grows sales volume with existing and new customers. Prospects successfully to expand the customer base with the expectation of incremental growth.
- Develops and implements plans to expand business presence for a portfolio and/or obtain new sales business.
- Sells based on company value proposition by identifying key growth opportunities of HD Supply product and services offerings.
- Develops and sustains sales relationships with key decision makers and influencers on all levels of an organization to attain sales goal.
- Shares market and competitor information with all applicable channels within the organization and establishes relationships and working partnerships with all levels.
- Participates in all local trade shows. Attends monthly business meetings for all business sponsored associations.
- Utilizes reporting to analyze customer buying trends and develop plans to qualify and engage new customers. Penetrates multiple buying types within an organization.
- Remains up-to-date on product improvements, industry, and technical knowledge.

Career Level Dimensions
- Typical Training/Experience: Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.
- Problem Complexity: Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
- Autonomy: Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to results expected. Determines and develops approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
- Leadership: May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Environmental Job Requirements
- Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
- Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Water & Wastewater Equipment and Supplies - Field Sales Territory Representative at USABlueBook
As an Outside Sales Representative for USABlueBook, you will be responsible for providing solutions for municipal and private water and wastewater customers; driving sales growth, and developing an existing portfolio of accounts within an established Los Angeles territory. This position is technical Business to Business sales in industrial facilities involving equipment like: pumps, process analyzers, metering, level and pressure, tanks, valves, safety, lab equipment, and more.

The ideal candidate will build credibility and customer trust through consultative selling of the extensive products offered in our 1,760 page USABlueBook Catalog, along with additional products available from over 750 suppliers. This sales position involves local travel within a 1-2 hour driving region, typically 80% of the time. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years business to business (B2B) sales with at least 1 in technical sales or, 1+ years sales experience to the water and wastewater industry, or 3 years experience working in a water or wastewater plant.
- Have direct experience with equipment and MRO supplies associated with water and wastewater plants and projects.
- Experience with consultative selling/solution selling preferred.
- Must be comfortable around industrial equipment and facilities.
- Skilled in data analysis techniques to understand and manage a sales territory, maximizing sales and time management both efficiently and cost effectively.
- Proficient with computer and Smartphone, I.E., MS Office Suite, Excel (higher level), CRM Software (Salesforce.com, Act!).
