New Visions Academy of Baltimore is seeking a Therapist to provide psychotherapy to individuals to aid a client or consumer in problems of living with the goal of increasing an individual’s sense of their own well-being.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below.

  • Facilitates treatment groups and provides individual, group and family therapy. Coordinates and facilitates Treatment Team operations scheduling all team conferences and meetings.
  • Develops and implement the Individual Treatment Plan and the social emotional component of the Individual Educational Program. Provides guidance to parents as questions and issues arise pertaining to clinical problems with their children.
  • Maintains the student’s clinical file and documents all clinical sessions and meetings by providing clinical notes for the record regarding treatment and progress reports including: Individual Treatment Plans; Social and Emotional component of the Individual Educational Plan; 30-Day and Quarterly Review; Treatment Team Meeting Notes; Clinical Progress Notes; Group Notes Clinical reports on contact with family and individual and family sessions; clinical narrative for IEP and notes for any special meetings that occur.
  • Provides monitoring and coordination of services to support the implementation of treatment including vocational, medical, psychological, drug and alcohol treatment, etc. Provides crisis intervention services to students and/or families during school hours.
  • Maintains regular and consistent contact with students including collateral contacts as necessitated by circumstances of each student’s situation. Serves as liaison with the referring agency, FAS Foster Care Program, and other service providers active with the student and the family; Adheres to Family Advocacy Services, LLC (FAS) policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates the development of all treatment goals, objectives, interventions, approaches, etc., as it is related to the Individual Treatment Plan and the Individual Educational Plan and insures that the information in the Treatment Plan is disseminated throughout the School and other FAS programs in which the student is participating;
  • Represents the Agency at Court, IEP, educational reviews and other meetings of significance to the student. Represents the Agency within the community and establishes and maintains supportive working relationships within the school, the agency and the broader community services network
  • Provides training, supervision and professional development to student interns who may be assigned by the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Attends all regularly scheduled staff, clinical and administrative meetings and, when necessary, at FAS Administrative offices. Provides after hours “On-Call” coverage for administrative services, on a rotating basis.
  • Provides transportation for students and/or parents to school related functions when required.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field and two years experience working with emotionally handicapped children and their families.
  • State licensure: LGSW or LCPC license required.
  • Current drivers license, car registration and auto insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
