## Description
**Senior Analyst - Advanced Analytics**
******_Position Summary:_**
The Advanced Analytics team empowers the Toys R Us organization through the development of predictive algorithms, novel analytical methodologies, and actionable solutions to complex business problems. As a Senior Analyst in Advanced Analytics, you will work on a highly visible, flexible, collaborative team with analysts of diverse backgrounds and skill sets to solve the most challenging problems in retail.
**_Position Responsibilities:_**
* Create and deploy predictive models to drive 1-to-1 marketing and merchandising decisions.
* Execute and evaluate appropriate analyses (cluster analysis, logistic/linear regression, collaborative filtering, etc.) given an array of tactical and strategic objectives.
* Utilize statistical and data visualization packages to develop innovative approaches to complex business problems.
* Define data needs and sources; evaluate data quality and extract/transform/load data for analytic and discovery projects.
* Interface closely with technology partners to manage analytical environment, acquire data sets, and develop production applications.
## Qualifications
Basic:
* MBA or graduate degree in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Business Analytics or related field with at least three years' work experience preferred.
* Experience working with large data volumes; Big Data.
* Familiarity with data transformation (ETL), relational databases, and SQL.
* Ability to digest business problems and translate needs into a data-centric context.
* Self-starter attitude with willingness to learn and master new technologies and analytical techniques.
* Flexibility to work both independently and within a team construct.
* A deep and unquenchable thirst for knowledge.
Preferred:
* Expertise in building and evaluating predictive models.
* Strong programming and analytical skills in major analytics software packages (e.g., R, SAS).
* Experience with retail or e-commerce data.
* Experience with POS, clickstream, unstructured, text, social data.
* Experience developing and deploying predictive models into production.
* Familiarity with data visualization software, such as Tableau.
* Fluency with a scripting language, such as Python or PHP.
