The Business Development Specialist manages financial information for Client's key promotion trade plans. Create financial plans and forecast spend based on allotted budget for promotions.

Job Responsibilities

Forecast, design, and conduct business and financial models for Client promotional trade plans.

Analyze, identify, and resolve potential promotional or funding issues or conflicts and communicate resolution to BDM and Client.

Partner with ASM Category Management team to build sales presentations, new items, selling promotions, pricing, and planogram changes.

Job Requirements

College degree or equivalent job-related work experience.

Working knowledge of syndicated data helpful.

Forecasts, sets objectives, anticipates, structures tasks and establishes priorities.

Strong sales presentation development skills.

Job Purpose

The Business Development Specialist manages financial information for Client’s key promotion trade plans. Create financial plans and forecast spend based on allotted budget for promotions. Analyze, identify, and resolve potential promotion funding issues/conflicts and communicate resolution(s) to Business Development Manager (BDM) and/or Client.

Job Responsibilities

Promotional Trade Plan

Forecast, design, and conduct business and financial models for Client promotional trade plans.

Manage financial information including balance sheet/accounts for trade plans; prepare financial analysis for period of statements; prepare reconciliations, schedules, and account analysis.

Research and report on factors influencing business performance.

Assess financial implications of new or existing plans.

Ensure compliance with ASM’s & Client’s standards for financial management.

Implement annual and item(s) specific promotional plans.

Financial record keeping at all local divisions.

Monitor spending plans to ensure that promotions are actualized and all deductions have been received.

Analyze, identify, and resolve potential promotional or funding issues or conflicts and communicate resolution to BDM and Client.

Presentation and Sales Plan

Partner with ASM Category Management team to build sales presentations, new items, selling promotions, pricing, and planogram changes.

Ensure ASM business partners understand use of Client’s promotional fund management system to avoid and ensure conflicts do not arise with client as a result of poor performance.

Effectively train ASM BAA and BDM in the field on use of financial system.

Implement new practices/protocols/procedures or revisions to existing ones for Client’s core fund management operations.

Job Requirements

Education

College degree or equivalent job-related work experience.

Experience

2 – 3 years relative work experience in applicable field.

Skills & Competencies

Advanced understanding of the financial management process.

Ability to be an expert in use of Client’s financial management system.

Ability to train others on use of Client’s financial management system.

Sales presentation/platform skills

Working knowledge of syndicated data helpful Forecasts, sets objectives, anticipates, structures tasks and establishes priorities.

Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; strong sales presentation development skills.

Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrates commitment to meeting or exceeding customer expectations, effectively solicits and responds to the needs of the customer both external and internal.

Works cooperatively with others toward common group objectives, demonstrates respect for the ideas and contributions of other team members, cultivates positive relationships with other associates, and provides assistance and support to others.

Tools/Software

Trade funding software experience such as Siebel, Adesso, or other similar software Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite – spreadsheets, word processing, presentation development Reporting software – report writing and analysis

Other Requirements

Strong understanding and utilization of proper safety techniques and correct use of equipment when appropriate. Executes verbal and written business communications, in a manner that effectively achieves business objectives, reflects the Company’s commitment to integrity, and is in keeping with Company policies

Travel up to 25%

Ability to be flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary, which may include but not be limited to on call.
